2022 Disaster Relief Mission Award
At the Command Council meeting at the 2022 National Conference, Virginia Wing was awarded the 2022 Disaster Relief Mission Award for Mid-Atlantic Region. CAP-USAF selects one winner each year in each region. Congratulations to all members of the wing who were part of the wing's disaster relief efforts and training!
Virginia Wing is recognized for:
- Airborne Photography, Winter Ice Storm, Feb 2021
- Wellness Checks, Winter Ice Storm, Feb 2021
- COVID-19 Support, Virginia and North Carolina
- Online Damage Assessment, Hurricane Ida and Quad-States Tornados
- Small UAS, initial development
- Operation Pulse Lift, blood drive and individual donors
- Operations Evaluation
- Member Training in all skills
The award also recognized the wing's cooperation with partner agencies, such as the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and the Virginia Department of Transportation.
