Civil Air Patrol Virginia Wing Members Continue to Support Food Distribution Efforts
Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) Virginia Wing continues to provide support for Prince William County’s distribution of necessary resources having been tasked last week at the request of Prince William County and Meals on Wheels.
As part of a growing connection with Prince William County’s COVID-response efforts, three senior members and nine cadets met in Manassas, Virginia, to aid in the transfer of food supplies to storage spaces to prepare for distribution to the public. Working with Manassas Senior Center staff and Prince William Parks and Recreation, Virginia Wing members unloaded and stored hundreds of packages of food items which will be used to make thousands of meals for the localities of Manassas and Prince William County.
The senior center’s staff, working with Meals on Wheels, expressed gratitude for the support CAP members were able to provide.
The team then moved to Woodbridge, where additional aid was requested to unload and store packages that will be used to prepare an expected amount of over 1,500 meals.
Additional support is expected as part of growing relations with county support systems throughout the Commonwealth and relief efforts continue in food distribution centers.
