Civil Air Patrol’s Prince William Composite Squadron participates in Women Can Fly event

Warrenton, Va. (June 25, 2023) – Members of Civil Air Patrol’s Prince William Composite Squadron of Virginia Wing joined more than 20 pilots for the Women Can Fly event June 24, 2023, at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport in Warrenton, Virginia. Composed of volunteer pilots and aviation enthusiasts, Women Can Fly’s mission is to promote aviation to women of all ages.

With their commitment to service and their expertise in aviation, Civil Air Patrol played a vital role in inspiring and supporting females of all ages who were eager to explore the world of flight.

Approximately 156 people were given the chance to fly, some for the first time. As a Total Force partner of the U.S. Air Force, Civil Air Patrol brought their wealth of knowledge and experience to the event, ensuring that participants had access to valuable insights and guidance.

During the Women Can Fly event, members of Prince William Composite Squadron engaged with more than 200 attendees, providing them with hands-on experiences and information about aviation. By showcasing the sheer joy and excitement of flight, they encouraged women and girls to consider flying recreationally, pursuing private pilot licenses, or even exploring career opportunities in aviation.

Through their involvement, Prince William Composite Squadron members demonstrated their commitment to service and their dedication to promoting aerospace education and leadership

development, aligning with their mission to contribute to the well-being of communities and inspire future generations.

The partnership between Women Can Fly and Civil Air Patrol exemplifies the collaborative effort to empower females in aviation and expand opportunities for them to engage in the world of flight. By combining the resources and expertise of both organizations, they were able to create an inclusive and

inspiring event that encouraged women to dream big, break barriers, and take to the skies.
