Who We Are
At the Fredericksburg Composite Squadron, we are dedicated to Civil Air Patrol’s three core missions: Cadet Programs, Aerospace Education, and Emergency Services. Our squadron has a rich history of active participation in local community events, including the Shannon Harvest Festival, Search & Rescue Training, and engaging STEM activities such as Model Rocketry.
Where and When We Meet
Join us at 100 Armory Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 on Monday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for aviation, leadership, and service. The Cadet Experience
Our Cadet program is designed for youth who want to challenge themselves beyond the ordinary. While not all cadets choose a military career, they all gain valuable skills that enhance various career paths, from engineering and science to business and education. Beyond our regular Monday meetings, cadets take part in immersive experiences, including Color Guard presentations, orientation flights, model rocketry launches, cybersecurity training, and Search & Rescue exercises.
Success Stories
The Fredericksburg Composite Squadron has produced remarkable success stories. Former cadets now attend the Virginia Military Institute (VMI), ROTC, Embry Riddle, serve in our nation’s armed forces, or pursue careers in fields like engineering and business.
Great Start Program
New cadets benefit from our “Great Start” program, where they receive essential instruction on drill, uniform wear, and everything needed for their first promotion. We’re committed to setting them up for success.
Senior Member Opportunities
Our squadron isn’t just for cadets. We also welcome adults who want to contribute. Whether you’re interested in aviation, professional development, or working with youth, there’s a place for you here. Some of our ongoing opportunities include helping with support roles like supply and administration, along with various guest speaker opportunities.
