Danville Composite Squadron

As an Auxiliary of the United States Air Force, we are a Squadron that includes Cadets (age 12-18) and Senior members who meet every Tuesday at 6:30 at our hanger at Danville Regional Airport.  Senior member learning opportunities include Aerospace Education, Emergency Services (including ground and air Search and Rescue) and other aviation and public service activities.  Cadets have monthly classes that include Leadership, Character Development, Aerospace Education and PT.

Seniors and cadets also engage in activities together, like honoring fallen veterans in the annual "Wreaths Across America" ceremony (see video link below).

Senior members (members who are 18 and over) can train for in crew positions in our aircraft, including Mission Scanner, Mission Observer and Airborne Photographer.  Individuals with a Private Pilot's license can apply and train to become a CAP pilot.

Major Kit Lippert (left), one of Danville's prominent nurses, is one of our Squadron pilots, as well as an FAA licensed Flight Instructor. She has introduced a number of CAP cadets to the thrill of flying.

Members can also train to be a part of the Civil Air Patrol's UAS (drone) program.  We'll be happy to give you more information.

A large part of our mission, as the Auxiliary of the Air Force, is performing public service locally, as well as assisting disaster relief organizations.  We teach our cadets that part of leadership is learning to serve others.  Recently, our members joined other squadrons assisting with delivery of Covid-19 testing equipment.

Where We Meet:  CAP Hanger at Danville Regional Airport  Every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:45. Enter the airport parking lot and make a left. Our hanger has a CAP sign on it.
