Congratulations to the cadets and senior members in Virginia Wing for these achievements in August 2020.

Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) Virginia Wing continues to provide support for Prince William County’s distribution of necessary resources having been tasked last week at the request of Prince William County and Meals on Wheels. 

Congratulations to Prince William Composite Squadron's Lt Col Kimberly Frady for earning a top honor, the Pabon Best in Show award, for her "'Be Your Best' Squared-Away Series'" - four slide decks of 10-11 slides depicting and explaining proper cadet uniform and grooming standards. 

Congratulations to Virginia Wing on being selected as the 2020 Mid-Atlantic Region recipients of both the aerospace education and cadet program mission awards! 

The Civil Air Patrol’s Virginia Wing flew 15 hours providing imagery of key areas for multiple agencies in response to Hurricane Isaias. 

Virginia Wing hosted their annual conference this past Saturday, Aug. 8, this time in a whole new fashion. For the first time in history, it was virtual. 

Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) Virginia Wing assisted North Carolina Wing CAP members in running a Point of Distribution center, supplying North Carolina residents with essential materials following the wake of Hurricane Isaias.

At the end of July after a highly successful four-year tour, Lt Col Daniel Ciesla relinquished command of Virginia Wing’s Legislative Squadron (VA-999) and Maj Daniel “Bud” Oakey accepted command at Virginia Wing Headquarters.

Civil Air Patrol’s Virginia Wing (CAP) 2,000 members actively engaged in a multi-faceted virtual challenge which resulted in increased participation and camaraderie across the state during their meeting and activity stand-down due to COVID-19.   

  Civil Air Patrol’s Virginia Wing responded to a request to support the Virginia National Guard by transporting COVID-19 tests to and from Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
