RICHMOND, Va. (Feb 2, 2024) – Civil Air Patrol (CAP) members from across the Commonwealth will visit the General Assembly and meet with legislators and other Virginia government officials during the 2024 legislative session on Wednesday, February 7th.
Winchester, Va. (December 6, 2023) – Civil Air Patrol’s Winchester Composite Squadron, acting as location coordinators for Winchester National Cemetery, invites the community to lay wreaths on Saturday, December 16th, starting at 11 AM, as part of Wreaths Across America’s National Wreaths Across America Day.
WINCHESTER, Va. (October 28, 2023) – Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Noah Keller, a member of Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) Winchester Composite Squadron, flew his solo flight earlier this month at Winchester Regional Airport.
Congratulations to the William P. Knight Composite Squadron for winning the Documentary Video category of the CAP High Altitude Balloon Challenge. Follow this link to see their winning video. As part of their prize, they received a $350 grant from the Air and Space Forces Association (AFA) to conduct additional STEM projects.
Civil Air Patrol’s Winchester Composite Squadron celebrated its new membership with the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, October 17th at their hangar at Winchester Regional Airport (459 Bufflick Road, Winchester, VA 22602).
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (Sep 20, 2023) – Forty-eight Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and Air Force JROTC members flew on a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III aircraft courtesy of the 167th Airlift Wing, West Virginia Air National Guard on September 14, 2023. The Civil Air Patrol members were from Winchester & Leesburg Composite Squadrons and the Air Force JROTC cadets were from Berkeley County Public Schools, West Virginia unit WV-071.

FAIRFAX, Va. (August 10, 2023) – Burke Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), US Air Force Auxiliary, had the honor of awarding two cadets the prestigious General Ira C. Eaker Award. The awards were presented by the Mid-Atlantic Region Commander, Colonel Eugene Egry.
Members of Civil Air Patrol’s Prince William Composite Squadron of Virginia Wing joined more than 20 pilots for the Women Can Fly event June 24, 2023, at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport in Warrenton, Virginia. Composed of volunteer pilots and aviation enthusiasts, Women Can Fly’s mission is to promote aviation to women of all ages.
