Congratulations to the cadets who completed a milestone award and senior members who promoted or completed a professional level award in July.

More than 50 members of the Civil Air Patrol’s Virginia Wing will gather in Hot Springs this weekend to conduct training in multiple specialties including urban direction finding, aerial photography, aircrew training, mountain flying, flight line operations, basic ground search and rescue, unmanned aerial system operations, mission base operations, and more. 

The Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) Virginia Wing was selected as the 2021 Mid-Atlantic Region recipients of both the Aerospace Education and Disaster Relief Mission Awards.

It is with deep sorrow to announce that Lt Col Scott Van Cleef, the squadron commander of Roanoke Composite Squadron, passed away yesterday from a heart attack.

Cadet Col. Evan E. Heidenreich of Prince William Composite Squadron, Virginia Wing, was presented the Gen. Carl A. Spaatz Award certificate on Friday afternoon, July 16th at the Air Force Association (AFA) Headquarters.

Virginia Wing relocated aircraft yesterday from outside ramps to inside hangars in advance of potential damaging weather related to Tropical Storm Elsa.
